ABS Module - I Wonder??
Thanks to the expert advice on this forum I was able to repair my ABS control module for the cost of a low voltage soldering iron and some solder. Ah yes a bit of Dot 4 Super brake fluid also.
But I wonder, if you bought the new module from the dealer for the crazy price of $2,800, would it still have the same defect and the solder joints break down the road a few years??? Or has Jag fixed the defect?
Also, for folks that have repaired their modules, how long will the repair last? Fixed for good? Or will the joints break again in the near future?
How long has a member gone with the repair in place?
I sure am keeping my fingers crossed.
Your thoughts?

Once you repair the "cold solder" joint you good for the life of the vehicle !!!!!
PROVIDED
1. You left a tiny air hole in the bottom to let air in so
as not to corrode the electronics within a couple of years--
I fear many people did not do this and COMPLETELY sealed all the air out.
And you carefully heated the terminal posts and left no bubble or tiny holes in the solder-
this is NOT wear and tear issue. THE techs/machines whatever did not heat the terminals up enough or long enough but just shot the solder on. I seriously question the "mistake" as Jaguar does charge $2800 to do this "service" on our vehicles.
I will post this to the forum because all you need to do is punch a nail through the silicone on the bottom only in one tiny spot -which can be done in 2min and requires no tools !!!
