Default ABS sensor harnesses

Just a feeble shot in the dark here, but are the front and rear ABS sensor wiring harnesses interchangeable on the XK8's?
Or are the front/rear leads a different length?

Shame you didn't want to know about the sensors because they are the same!

The front and rear harnesses have different part numbers and there's two options for the rear depending on whether adaptive control is fitted or not. That's stacking the odds against them being interchangeable.

I might need a sensor as well, and the Indy quoted me for both (£315), but the mechanic said the harness wasn't transmitting any signal, so my warped logic tells me that he may not be able to tell if the sensor is ok until the harness works.
Looks like i'll have to go hunting round breaker yards.
Thanks GGG.

Although front and rear have different part numbers, LH and RH on each end are the same. If he suspects one corner and doesn't know whether it's sensor, harness or both, switching LH and RH leads will give the clue.

At £315, a used replacement wins the arguement hands down for me!

Swapping the sides is a good test. I have a code telling me left front is not reading. When I traded the sensor and lead it still reads left front. Resistance of all four is the same at the ABS connector, so it's probably internal problem in the ABS module.

I went with the Autoenginuity/Jag package. Almost $500, but I intend to stay with Jag and feel it's justified.

I heard the AutoEnginuity is the best software out there, but i'd also need a laptop to put it on, and the £750 is a bit steep for me at the moment.

Maybe at some point in the future.

You don't need a new one, but I didn't realize how expensive they are over there. My compaq was under $300 new. I use it just for JTIS and other downloads plus the AE.

RJ237 i've re-read this old post while looking for something else, and it's just occurred to me that you may have thought laptops here in the UK were £750.
I meant that the Auto enginuity software (together) with a laptop would total about £750.
Thought i'd clear that up, just in case.
