ABS/Stability Control Fail warning

ABS/Stability Control Fail warning
I was reading an old thread about ABS/Stability control fail warning light. Mine came on today after I just got it back from shop to have thermostat replaced. I am reluctant to go back to that repairperson. It is a 1997 XK8. It is ok to drive? I need to take a 150 mile trip tomorrow.
The thread suggested it could be dirty sensors or low brake fluid.
thank you for your comments.

diane - I've moved your post from the Forum Feedback and advice as that is for posting issues with navigating or searching the forum itself.
It is now in the XK8/XKR section where techs and members with the same model can best assist you in resolving your issue. If you check the stickies at the top of the XK8 forum, you will find several how to's that may address your issue
As this is your first post, please stop by the New Member section and post an intrto - in turn, you will receive a warm welcome and some tips to forum use

Yes it could be an issue with a sensor or could be the black box for the system or a few other things. I wouldn't think low fluid would be one of them but that should be easy to tell. Open the hood remove that black plastic cover on the drivers side firewall. The master cylinder reservoir is right there and should be filled to about a 1/4" to the top. Only way to tell is to pull the codes or have them pulled. You should be fine driving it however, the pump will run continuously with the light on.
Oh and you'll need someone with a jaguar code reader not just an obd2 reader to pull the codes I think. Depending on where you're at maybe somone can recommend a shop in your area for ya if you post up your location in your info.

1st time i had this fault was 3 months ago...went for a drive and 5 mile or so into the journey up came this fault message. Engine off, key out, key back in and then restart......fault message never returned?
2 months prior to that i removed and cleaned all the sensors and the battery is only 12 months young. It's a Jag and it's twitchy !!

I've also recently had this particular issue come up. I've been running around on it for about 4 days now, hasn't had any issues yet, but I have to admit, it unnerves me... Could anyone tell me where the ABS sensor is, so I can remove/clean it and *fingers crossed* solve my problem? Thanks in advance!
