+1 on getting a scan done ASAP. $50+/- at the dealer! Worth it, keep you from tearing your hair out! lol

If you get the urge to get your hands dirty right now, lots of info on forum on some things you can have a "stab" at including:

Cleaning your ABS sensors
Check all ABS sensor wires are plugged in and secure
Check sensor wires have enough free play at front wheels (Mine didn't and tugged at plug-in, slight interuption in connection caused the fault to show)
Check wiring securely connected at ABS module

All pretty simple things to do yourself, only need 8mm wrench/spanner and toothbrush! Here's a link with more info on sensor cleaning also has a great video from Rev Sam

I had the ABS fault/ DSC fault for OVER A YEAR before I went to dealer for scan, save time and hair!

Good Luck

Yup around the $50 CAD mark plus the taxes of course. Got a print out too. went in specifically to find out what was causing the ABS fault DSC fault.

Definitely worth the money if it leads to a solution. I even took out ABS module and disassembled it to check the solder joints only to find my MY is not affected by the cold solder cracking the earlier models did. I wasted a lot of time poking around trying to fix the problem before I really knew what the problem was~time I could have been driving the car or sitting on the beach with my honey!
Thankfully someone on this very forum suggested I get the codes read. I did!

RJ237 suggested getting codes read in post 2~awesome advice.

I think if you do a search with android phone and code reader you may find what you need. Good luck.

I do have a front passenger wheel bearing to replace, could this cause the fault?

No, those readers do not read ABS related codes. Instead of spending $50, $150 at the dealer - go on Ebay and purchase a Elm327 reader - about $10 - also, search the forum for "member approved scanners".

Yes, a bad wheel bearing could be causing your abs woes also (speed sensor on the offending wheel) but get the code(s) read for sure to determine true cause(s)

My suggestion is for you to find someone that is handy with a volt / ohm meter and can understand the test procedure that is on my page. That procedure will put you in the right direction.

There is a thread active now in which GordoCatCar states that he has a generic code reader that can read Jag ABS codes. You could send him a PM asking for details.
