Default ABS warning lights

Hi can someone please help a friend of mine ? Here is his question.
Could you ask your friends in the Forum what they think the problem is and what can be done. The photos show the amber ABS warning
light on and the Traction Control Fail light and the Stability Control Fail light flashing on alternately every few seconds. Is this the ABS hydraulic control unit and the control module failing? Could it be a sensor? What remedies can l try as l'm guessing this is an MOT fail problem. The diagnostics also picked up a gearbox overheating message which is longstanding and l don't think is real.-the box has twice had the drum clutch replaced and oil replaced .Can the two be connected?

Any time I get ABS / stability control warning it's been a low voltage battery issue.

Had the same problem. Mine was a defective ABS module. Many other posts in here about failed wire connections to the sensors.

The best way of sorting the problem is to have the car scanned at a shop that can access Jaguar specific codes. The dealers are not a good choice for this, an indie shop is. If we knew you friends location, there might be a forum member nearby that could do this. I assume the car is a XK8, but knowing the year would also be useful.

Good suggest. Jaguar dealer estimate to do a scan was 750. My indie charged 150 and found the problem using Jag software. For my car, the defective ABS module (CAN connect) meant I couldn't pull codes. Now that the ABS module has been replaced, no problem getting generic codes. A reader that does Jag specific codes would be even better.

Bigjm,

As said above, it could be a any of a number of issues, from easy to fix and home DIY-able fixes to the ABS module. Really need to more details on the car itself (model year, mileage, service history (gearbox clutch service ATF change you mentioned) etc.
Any way lots of experience here on the forum - once the problem is narrowed down. Here's a Youtube video on a home DIY fix on a common ABS power solder pin issue (could be the problem).

Was watching John's TTG Youtube channel and noted this ABS sensor check. Relevant to the subject on this thread, if the owner wants a DIY check.

I had the exact same condition and the code referred to the left front sensor. I took the sensor out and thoroughly cleaned it (was really dirty) - Problem Solved.
