Airbag Warning Light

Airbag warning light on XK8 (2005). This dash warning light has been on for about two years. No blinking. It just stays on. Jag dealer doesn't want to mess with it if it's on a list of things I give him to do. To focus just on fixing this warning light will cost me $200+ without any gurantee that he can actually find the problem and fix it. I have tried changing fuses, but I have not found the right one. Anyone out there who can help?
Thanks,
Hold-my-beer

Welcome to the forums Hold-my-beer,
I can help in two ways.
1. move your post from Other Jaguar Models / Concepts / Replicas forum to XK8/XKR forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.
2. suggest there's a possibility the Control Module is toast - see this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...de-17-a-94959/
Look for threads about 'blink codes' to get further into troubleshooting this issue.

Free stuff:
Best of luck, keep us posted.
- Check if you get flashing airbag light by turning the key on, engine off. These translate to codes that can be looked up
- Check if there is "ultrasound" coming from the occupancy sensors (younger ears required for this)
- Check under the seats for frayed wires, more common if the seat is set to the lowest setting
- Check if anything changes with a passenger in the seat. Check if the belt buckle indicator and glove pox wood panel light seem to work (check the dash)
- Go to the stickies and find the owner manual. In there, you should find fuse diagrams and locate the airbag fuse.
- Get a proper Jaguar/Land Rover code reader and let the controller tell you what is wrong (<$200). Check iCarsoft and Foxwell on eBay/Amazon. Well worth it in the long run, "not just a tip calculator", "it does other things" and all that.
- Use the same code reader to see if you can read values for the various sensors, like belt buckle status, seat switch status, etc.
- Searching by actual code would likely give you much better results, this forum has seen its share of airbag posts.
Best of luck, keep us posted.
