Aircon code 23.. in dubio

Hey all,
So my A/C stopped working, I last had it filled 4 or 5 years ago, so I thought to take a trip to a friendly garage and have it filled again. After filling up, the clutch would not come on. They suggested to check if the compressor is still working so they emptied the system again.
Should've probably read up on the error code before that, since now that I did read it out I get 23 and 24. (pressure switch error and face vent demand).
Now my dubio is this. Now that the system is empty again, it is logical to receive 23. But that may also be the cause of the original problem, since I did not check it while it was filled up..
Is clearing of any of the error codes of the a/c system required, or should it start up by itself again if the system pressure is OK?
Edit: Forgot to mention, according to the machine the system is leak-free, at least leak-free enough for it to want to fill it. Apparently all the stuff did leak out over the course of 5 years or so.
