Another ABS/Traction control fail

Another ABS/Traction control fail
My '97 XK8, which I bought yesterday, was suffering an intermittent failure which the dealer mechanic said was the left front speed sensor. This has happened twice since I bought it.
I removed both front sensors and checked resistance. Left is 1154 ohms, right is 1165. I then checked the connecting wires and they are good even when flexed.
After a hard reset the messages were again displayed as soon as the ignition was turned on. I also checked battery and ground connections. Cruise control works.
Should I conclude the problem is in the module or is there further testing I can perform.

Thanks Matt, my AE software is already on the way. This my first XK8, but in a few years I plan on moving up to a '05 or '06. This car at least has a little more legroom than my Z3, and once I extend the seat travel I should be very comfortable.
Without the support of the forum members I probably would not have bought this car.

If you have a digital voltmeter, while you're waiting for the AE software there's one piece of data that would be worth getting, IMO.
Let the car sit overnight and then measure the battery voltage, before the 1st start of the day. This so-called rest voltage can give a pretty good indication of the battery's health. May or may not have something to do with the ABS light (a weak battery can be a cause) but good to know anyway.
