Another Avos Twin-Screw Supercharger Kit in USA

I've got the XKR!
These videos are no big deal because I still have to go through the break-in period. I will get most of that accomplished tonight! I took a break to have dinner and upload a few videos for you guys. You've been supportive and it's time to put this online. I shot these videos just about an hour and a half ago. The first shows me literally pulling out of the lot at Falconworks for the first time. The second is further down the street. In none of these videos do you get to see the car or radical bursts of power. I'll have better videos soon! All you get to see is my beer belly and HUGE smile... plus you get to hear the whine, oh that addictive supercharger WHIIIIINE! Bring on the POWAAAAAAH!
I didn't intend to give a little bit more gas in the videos than what is considered 'break-in level', but the car just wants to GO. I've had to get used to barely giving it the gas. Passing someone on the highway is ridiculously easy, without even downshifting, it just goes, "WOMPFFFFFfffffuuuuuh." past the slower vehicle.
When you slow down to stop at a light, the blower does this amazing whistle sound that has others looking over to see what God has unleashed onto the surface of the planet.

120 miles... a little bit of fun.
It got to 100 miles, then I let it go a bit. Dang! The videos do NOT show the feeling of the G forces planting you back into the seat. I don't have the black box DVR camera set up yet, so these are just from my iPhone. The tires are breaking loose, so some of the bursts are short. I've got a wider set of wheels coming, and the new OS Giken limited slip differential is on its way to me. I need it! I'm heading off to bed. Ya'll enjoy.
Short tunnel run:
Engine walk around:
First gear after turning still spins the tires:
Proof that the differential is needed. It's hard to tell in this video, but the car was trying to shoot off to the left in a hurry! Foot off of the gas fixed that.
Everything that AVos has been saying about these twin screw Jags is true. Lots of power and YOU NEED TO GET A GOOD LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL AND A WIDER SET OF WHEELS. Bwah-ha-haaaaaah!

Woohoo, its fantastic to see you driving your car, and it does me great pleasure the hear your enjoyment (in the short tunnel run), and welcome to the club ;-)
Please drive with care!
PS Can highly recommend the Michelin Super Sports, they will give some good extra grip, am using the 295 wide ones, and these are the best tires I've ever had.

Congratulations Jeff!
..and thanks alot for allowing us to follow the process. Very informative.
I understand fully the small laugh of excitement in the end of the tunnel.
I am seriously thinking of do almost the same. I have a XKR98 4.0L so a stage I is what's possible for me.
Question: -What do You think about the XKR's original brakes with all that power under the hood?
/Jan

Waaa, i cant see vids at work!!!blocked
I knew youde love it, that whistle at idle, the differance in power from the Eaton is like normally aspirated to supercharged. I know youre comparing before to after with alot more boost. Im comparing mine with the Eaton at 10psi with 9to1 compression to the KB at 8 psi and now 8 to1 compression pistons. the KB and engine has waaay more hp than before even though lower boost and less compression. read that as more efficient, faster boost and cooler intake charge, all = more hp! Yes this is alot more money than exhaust etc... but as you now know. the differance is totally differant and no comparison. I think everyone should get a older Jag and do this if looking for outrageous performance from a Jaguar at affordable price. youll be thousands less than newer and spank just about anything out there without anyone expecting it, now go find a new XKR/XFR to run away from

Brakes
An automotive purist would do things the opposite way as to what I have done, they would get the brakes and limited slip differential FIRST. I have had powerful cars previously and knew that I could be careful. I received confirmation that the LSD is on its way to me now, new wheels with wider stance will be here soon, and new brakes will also be done in a few months. So, I'm backward. Haaah!

Approximate costs
I did not do the work myself, so the costs are initially higher. Had I chosen to do the installation myself, it would have taken longer and I would have had to hire help. It also may not have run properly.
All of these things depend upon options and choices. I will keep AVos' supercharger kit price private because his kit is also dependent upon choices and I can't quote a price for him as an agent. His kit price is lumped in with other things. Taxes and shipping are thrown in as well. Prices are approximations. These approximate prices are for an engine swap and supercharger installation.
4.2 Engine with 42,000 miles:$4995 (+shipping)
Supercharger kit, related parts, intake, supporting hardware and other goodies (odds and ends): approximately $7000-8000
Installation (not including differential): $10,450 (lots of engine parts in that price, too)
Preparation for install by techs: (no cost, because they were nice)
Total: $22,445 - $23,445 (added without my receipts next to me, so there could be another $1000 missing somewhere)
Still to do:
OS Giken limited slip differential:$2900 + installation
Wheels/tires: $3800
Brakes: $2500
If you don't do the work yourself, expect to pay handsomely for it. When you compare the value of what you end up with, versus buying a less powerful $130,000 car, you end up with a bargain priced super-car. My original cost for the car, purchased from eBay, was $8600.
The majority of installation labor and parts expense was tied to the engine swap.

8500' altitude
The supercharger kit makes the climb up a mountain quite easy. There was no over-heating issue. I may as well have been driving on level ground, rather than up steep grades. Excellent performance. The RealGauge temperature meter made it comfortable, allowing me to see the fluctuations in water temperature accurately.

LOL! Jeff, I understand others have already chimed on your facial expressions and mischievious giggle during the 600+ hp maiden drive, but must concur with my own laugh just watching your surprise expressions. You've likely encouraged others to help in the development of killer Jags.

Jeff, I know you are happy to get your XKR back on the road, but I kinda hate that that means the thread comes to an end. Thanks for letting us all come on the ride with you.
I have a 2002 XKR vert that looks a little too much like yours. If you spot me hanging around, you may want to make sure our cars don't "accidentally" get swapped!
