Good thing I did, because after really researching it, it seems the OS Giken will suit my driving much better as it's able to transfer power better during cornering with acceleration/deceleration and drifts much better when you want to kick the end out a little. Heh.
You should have contacted Martin Slade at Racing Green Cars. When I bought LSD, Quaife told me ( after I got wrong part from Quaife ) that they do not stock right part for my car, but I can buy QDF5W from RGC.

Racing Green Jaguar. - XK 1996-2006, Differential, Limited Slip

I got the LSD unit in two days.

After dealing with the Quaife rep, I had no desire to purchase anything of theirs. For all accounts, the OS Giken seems to be a much more highly regarded part, and also the most quiet. So I'm happy with my purchase.

I have considered AVOS' mod myself, but for financial reasons, decided to go with a smaller stainless pulley from "Powerhouse" in the UK. I have been very happy with the mid-range power that was added by the pulley. Also, I really enjoyed your posts on the water/methanol injection system and plan to look closely at adding one myself in the near future.

You are certainly on the right track to beef up the shifts of your MB 722.6 transmission too. My 2003 XKR has the ZF 6HP26 and I have not had very good luck finding much out there on the "interwebs" on modifying that box. I'd really like to find away to manually access and hold first gear!

Good luck! And please keep up your progress reports with pictures.
Dang! Does your wife happen to go by "Plenty"? I love voluptuous women.

Default 'Been busy!

'Sorry for no new posts lately, but I've been busy helping my Mom move. I am also in that awkward waiting period. After AVos finishes the kit and ships it to me, I'll have more to post. I'm looking forward to it!

Default 'Getting close!

AVos was kind enough to contact me again to determine if I was going with the 4.0 or 4.2 engine. I have chosen to replace my original 4.0 with a lower mileage 4.2. That told him what he needed to know regarding which type of pulley to supply.

There is one minor part for him to have produced, then we'll ship it all over at one time. He did offer to send everything but the last part right now, but since the replacement engine is not available yet, I asked him to wait until the last piece is available.

My experience with AVos has been very worthwhile and professional.

Default Shipped!

AVos has now confirmed that the twin screw supercharger kit has been shipped! I can't wait to see it. I'll post some photos of what the parts look like, then begin the process of bringing in a 4.2 engine to replace the tired 4.0.

Default Merry Christmas to me!

Aw, YEAH! AVos' twin screw supercharger showed up about an hour ago. I've unwrapped it (it was very well packaged with foam, etc.) and show photos below. Now, it's time to bring the 4.2 engine into town so that we can get this project DONE!

The MAF, intake piping and pulley are not pictured, only the items that arrived in today's box. I already have shown the throttle body and the pulley arrives shortly from Kenne Bell.

Thanks to AVos, here's what has arrived:

You need to label this thread NSFW, cause it's pornographic...

Seconded! I have a 2006 XK-R with the factory Brembos and 20" BBS wheels. Actually I recently switched to 19" OZ Racing wheels to save weight and give me a little more tire (fed up with getting the rims straightened every month due to pot holes).

Anyway - with the Brembos you can stand the thing on its nose at any time and speed - somewhat necessary given where I live and play. I've driven an XK8 with the stock brakes and would definitely recommend the upgrade. Avos' kit will certainly be in my (relatively) near future.

Here's some vid I shot recently - yet that's a Ferrari 430 Spider and an Audi R8 GT in the "rear view mirror" :-) Ignore the sound - too much wind noise. Also there were loads of bikes around so we had to dial it back a bit.

Awesome drive. Thanks for the video.

Except for the bike riders, the road looked pretty empty. Thought the GMR was pretty popular?

Good advice on the brakes. I'll have that done at some point in 2013.

The videos are AWESOME! What kind of camera and mount did you use?

It depends on the day - lots of bikes there but you can generally get a good run. Also there are more going up than down (either going all the way to Baldy or turning left at East Fork and heading down to Asuza).

Forward facing camera is a GoPro using a suction cup mount on the windshield.
Rear facing camera is a Sony HDR-CX160 mounted on a tripod. 2 legs behind the seats and the third leg in the center arm rest hole. Seats fully back. Since I had the Sony's anti-shake control on you will notice that the tonneau moves around a little!

If anyone is interested a group of us drive GMR and a few other roads in the area from time to time. I'll post details of the next run - it would be great to have some Brit car company

We've had one other XKR come along as well as a couple of Lotuses (Loti?) and an Aston. The core of the group is a bunch of M5s. Next run probably won't be until spring since we need to wait for the roads to dry up and any snow to melt.
