The Carnival Red looks gorgeous. It says a lot if you're getting compliments in LA. The other day, I was sitting at a light (top down). The guy in the next lane said "that's the Jaguar I've always wanted".

late to the party here, but my top speed is 141. It took a lot of road to make that happen, and I am pretty sure it will never happen again.

Congrats on 141. Am guessing it wasn't in MA. Hope the trip's going well!

after I win Powerball, and can then afford to lose my drivers license, I’ll find out the top speed. Until then you rule (and in XK8 no less). And are putting the XKR’s to shame.

it was actually on I-90 heading away from boston. It was late at night and something got into me and I just decided to pin it until I lost my nerve. Getting to 120 is easy. 130 comes soon after. Getting to 140 takes a lot of road (for my car). If I were to guess, I could maybe get to 145-147 if given unlimited road.

Road trip is going well so far! We're on the tail end, hustling back across the country. We were Vegas on monday, will be in Memphis by tomorrow.

(shaking my head) ok, well maybe Mass State Troopers are more lenient these days. No radar? I'm not going fast until I get the suspension (shocks to start) sorted out and a good set of tires. Glad the trip's going well and the big cat is doing well. Sounds like fun.
