Default Another nice compliment

I have had several instances over my years of ownership where someone approaches me with a completely unsolicited compliment about the car. Most recent was today at a gas station where a guy (probably in his 30s) just stopped in his tracks to tell me how beautiful the car looked and I heard the word "new". I figured he somehow thought the car was new and I told him it was not new but an "old" 2005. He then repeated what I had misheard and said how much better these looked compared with the "new" ones that he does not like--he admired the simple classic lines of our vintage XK8.

It's always nice to hear this and is the main reason I strive to keep the car as long as possible. Only about 51,000 miles so it might be achievable.

Doug,

You are about two weeks older than me so a well maintained 2005 Jaguar will probably outlive both of us.

Around a week ago I returned to my car from shopping at the mall only to find a note on the windshield from a gentleman who wanted to buy it. 'Still kicking myself a bit - I should have found out how much he was willing to offer.

Many of us have probably heard the rumor that Jaguar plans to bring back the XK in 2021 as a 4-seater sporty GT version of the next-generation F-Type. 'Saw a mock-up of it someplace..

Question The 2005 XKR Coupe compared to the BMW 8 Coupe

From the same Rear Angle the XKR Coupe has smoother Angles than the BMW 8 Series and I believe shows more Class overall! The "Bimmer" is a Beauty but not as Classy as the XKR! That's the way I feel about it and I sticking to it!

Billy Clyde

I feel very Lucky to have this Coupe and as you Guys say," Almost every Day Someone comes up to tell me how Beautiful they think the Coupe looks!

I was trying to place both Photos side by side but I failed....Sorry!

Funny, My wife has been driving my XK8 for a couple weeks as we shipped her car ahead in advance of our move back east. Today I was coming up Haleakala Hwy, divided 4 lane with a grass medium, in my work car and saw a XK8 coming down the mountain at a high rate of speed, let's just say it was passing everything on the road!

Thought to myself "Dammmmm that's a fine looking car, lucky guy out throwing caution to the wind, having a great time". As the car went pass took me a split second to relize it was MY XK8! She gives me hell for driving fast and goes out and runs that baby out, good for her! Better believe there will be no more complaining about my heavy foot!

Nothing like catching them with there hand in the candy jar.

X-ray, whoever is driving is always the better driver

asked last night if she was enjoying the Jag, she just smiled and commented on how many looks she's getting. I just replied as long as the extra attention wasn't from the law to enjoy it.

A pretty woman in an in an equally pretty Jag, what could get more attention?

a "zray" is just some guy whose been fortunate enough to have been driving some of the worlds finest cars for the last 50 years., and still loves the open road thanks to a well traveled '02 XKR.

as far as women drivers go, this Raymond Chandler quote thru his great character, Philip Marlowe says it beautifully, and can't be repeated often enough;

"........She drove beautifully. When a woman is a really good driver she is just about perfect.”

My 19 year old daughter has been driving my XKR coupe for the last few months. She gets an unusual amount of attention for some reason.
