Hey,,Lanny -
Sorry yours is still giving you trouble. I'm wondering (always dangerous!) if when you had difficulty re-installing the mech., you might have damaged or fouled the seals. Also, you said you shut the engine off and were able to add more fluid. The fluid has to be added while it's running; at least that's my understanding of the process.

At any rate, I hope you can sort it out. Mine (well, in truth it's the wife's) is doing great. We've had it out on several decent drives, and are driving it at least once a week. Hopefully we'll be able to enjoy this car for years to come!

Mickey

Unless I have misunderstood, i don't think you have refilled correctly. You are supposed to fill the trans until it overflows the start the engine (which engages the pump) then once up to temperature fill until it overflows again and plug before switching off the engine.

If you shut it off before the second fill you will almost certainly be very low on fluid.

While you are doing the final refill process with the engine running, Person No. 1 needs to be in the drivers seat methodically shifting through the gears while Person No. 2 is underneath the vehicle pumping the fresh ATF into the pan. And always remember that the fill plug must be screwed back into place BEFORE the engine is shut down, otherwise Person No. 2 is likely to wind up with a face full of hot ATF....

Let me explain a bit more....
After getting everything together, I was only able to add about 3L of fluid before it overflowed. That is when I had wife start engine, went to D, then R, then P couple of times, then shut off. Now I was able to add more fluid until it overflowed. Started engine again, went to D, then R, then P several times as I monitored pan temp. Once temp got to about 45°C there was a small trickle of fluid coming out...installed the fill plug.

Next day took car out for a 90 mile trip. Day after that, I jacked-up the car again, loosened the fill plug, started engine, went through the gears several times, monitored pan temp. At about 42°C, I unscrewed the fill plug a bit more to check if fluid would come out....it did, plug went right back in. Shut engine off, let cool down before I fully tightened the fill plug.

So I think the trans is full....but please correct me if I am in error here.

I did not really think the new seals and fluid would fix the TCM fault.....it was just a hope.
