Default Antenna fuse?

I read somewhere on here there is a specific fuse I can take out to keep the antenna down even when the radio is turned on?

Can someone linke me or post a picture or diagram on what fuse to take out and any details etc.?

Thanks!

The fuse box in the boot/trunk, under the right hand floor panel.
The fuse box is next to the battery.
All the fuses are numbered, and you need to remove fuse 9.
Radio STILL works!

We often fit a switch so you can choose when to have the aerial up or down, we hide it inside the sun glasses cubby hole, works a treat

Thumbs up

Like XKRacer says, most useful is to fit a switch to the centre console.

It's WAY easier and convenient to just pull the fuse. I did it and that ghastly thing doesn't come up anymore. Yeah Fuse 9 in the trunk by the battery. I think it's 10A.

I have to agree with WhiteXKR, not that convenient if you want the radio, for those that dont listen to the radio then sure pull the fuse, otherwise a switch gives you the best of both worlds

my radio still works without the mast going up and down. It depends on where you are. See roys post earlier for confirmation so no it's not better.

And when you wish you could pick up that station that it just static with the antenna down? It sure is a lot easier to flip a switch then pop in a fuse.

I rarely listen to the radio but have no problems with static or otherwise. I am in a major city so that could explain it. CD's are the way I go anyways. If I wanted to put something more useful in I'd do a receiver for my cell phone, bluetooth etc, I can get radio, police radio, internet radio, etc etc etc off of that.

I removed, what I believe to be is fuse 9, the antenna stopped going up and down, the radio screen would go on, but no sound from radio or cd... any ideas?

It works when the fuse is back in.

Do you have the premium sound system?

If so Fuse #9 (10 Amp) in the Luggage Compartment also protects the remote power amplifier.

+1 on the power amp on the same circuit. I pulled the plug on the antenna for a while but got frustrated on no radio. Do the antenna remote switch. It takes about 1/2 hour to do including driving to Radio Shack.

How do I know if I have premium sound? And does anyone have a picture of which one to pull? My diagram on the cover doesn't have a map of my fuses in the trunk?

Your owners manual has a chart of the fuses. If you pull back the right side carpet in the trunk you will see a rack that holds the CD changer, navigation and the power amp. If the amp is there you have premium sound.

Yea ! Radio still works but you will have problems recieving AM Stations.
I would like to replace the stock antenna with an automotive shark fin antenna, but don't know if an amplifier would be required. Has anyone considered this a viable alternative ?

I believe I have the premium sounds so does pulling the fuse not work? Can I just clip the antenna wire or will the radio and CD changer no longer work if I do this?

You could just clip the antenna wire and be fine. That is essentially what the switch does, it just gives you the option to flip it back and have the antenna work. 99% of the time my switch is off, but it is nice to be able to flip it on, and really, it takes so little time and cost to throw a switch in while you are at it, I don't quite understand the reluctance.

Rather than cut wires...... Just pull the plug..... Easy to get to
