Thanks! I wasn't even planning on getting a custom plate, but I was sitting there at DMV waiting to finish registration of my XKR and get normal plates... and it just popped into my head in the middle of random thoughts.

I kinda like how it works two ways... phonetically and the whole RAWR cat thing. I thought it might be kinda girly, but I didn't care. I'm sure it'll catch the girl's eyes first, so that's kinda a bonus. lol It was spur of the moment and it was available so I just took it.

Us the the UK dont have so much luck

Number plates aka licence plates have been issued as follows

Up until 1962

A mixture of letters a numbers: Very early say "A 1" then progressing to say something like BYH 374

With the numbers representing the City/County(State) where the number plate was issued

1963 - 1984

Format ABC 123A the last letter being the year the plate was issued

1984 - 2001(ish)

Format A123 ABC the first letter being the year/ half year the plate was issued

2001- present

Format

AB 51 ABC

The numbers representing the year eg 51 would be six months ending February 2002 and the letters again still representing where the number plate was issued.

So we are a bit restricted, especially as our Gov sells the best number plates via auction. Ie low numbers, no prefix or suffix ie dateless, or ones that you can spell things with.

So we can have things like:

Initials eg Gary Fred Smith could have GFS 123
PEN 1S (it has been banned!)
XKR 123
CUE 80Y which one of our top snooker players has the 8 being shaped like a B
800 BSY

And now as always my mind has gone blank!

And Oh yes on the mainland you cant use I Q or Z

But we can buy and sell when we like.

I actually saw PEN 1S in Knightsbridge in London about 30 years ago. It was on a red Lamborghini Diablo

Typical bureaucrats. I guess they figure if they can't use their IQ, no one else should, either.

The guy I bought my XK8 from had NVRENUF on it.

Having 2 Jaguars, some friends suggested I get JAGSRUS.

Previous owner's vanity plate. I had a difficult time with it, and caught many snickers and people pointing and laughing on the drive from SoCal to Denver. I don't know if he was a Gay Blade, but the name on the title was Gary Blade, so maybe he did not have a clue. I was happy to get it registered here and it now sports my DAV plates

Not sure if it's great, but mine is "JAG V8". (Just to let people know it is not the V6.......).
Definetly a "Vanity" plate.

Yeah, I have to admit, mine is definitely about the vanity. I had a blown V8 Vega when I was young, and this brings back part of that feeling.

I missed this earlier. I have a cousin named Doug, but I don't even know where he lives anymore. I believe he is still in the Bozeman, MT area.
