Default ANy new ideas for fog/ drl on a 97

What is the latest thoughts for led replacement for the fog lights and use them as dlr's as well. I have 52k on it and don't want to change too much from the stock look. I can always run a relay to turn them off when the high beams are on.

It look easy enough to take a small relay NC and connect one side to the orange/green wire and the other side to ground. Then put one side of the coil to +12v and the other side using 2 diodes, one going to the low beam and the other going to the high beam. So when either the high or low beam wires go low then the fog lights would be off unless I turn them on at the factory dash switch.

They way I wired it they still work just light the factory installed, go off when the high beams are on. The dash switch still works as well as the indicator light showing they are on. The only differance is they are on any time the car is running except when the high beams are on. I also wired a switch so I can turn them off if needed. no relay required.

a better DRL setup that is becoming standard in some countries is the parking lights as running lights with the low-beam (dipped) headlights. this helps to give contrast to the sides and rear of the vehicle. helpful for warning others before they crash into you. these cars in the darker colors kind of disappear into the background. perhaps it is my boat driver training, but i like the concept of 360 degree running lights. no wiring required; just turn the switch two clicks before engaging the engine, or change the computer settings.

also making the fog lights too white defeats their purpose as they are supposed to be warmer lights that project below a fog line and not reflect off the suspended water vapor. this is why you can use the running lights without the low-beams and just the fog lights. they are also useful for cornering and make quite a difference on dark roads. the brighter bulbs probably help here, but might not be the best for fog.
