While the car looks to be in very good condition, the interior is surprising for where it was stored, this is a major undertaking which will cost you at least 35k for a runner as long as no major component has failed. if you do not know or want to do things, price accordingly. when you are dealing with a series 1, often you want to do a full restoration to achieve that collectible, maximum value car which you then have to be careful using, if at all. if this car can be kept as original as possible, you are also required to be careful. if you do a complete restoration, you have to be aware of a few things. There are very few places that can do this correctly and even fewer owners. The perceived quality of the restoration is often linked to the restorer's standing in this car's community of known service providers. You are looking at 80k, minimum, to do this. If you love the car it is easier than if you are considering it as an investment. There are market forces here.
Something made me go back to the ad and I see that the seller messed with it. Now you have to reverse a color change. The question is asked as to whether his workmanship or the people that he hired are good. Is the car numbers matching? Has it ever been in a collision? All of these matter as to the final result and value. Even if you just want a project to bang around with, how much will you have to do not having ever experienced how the car originally felt.
You really need to know what you want to do and have a general idea of the market. PM me if you want to go back and forth as I once wrote a post that had some market discussion and I consult for these types of things, no charge.

afraid you are too late, sold on BAT today for $83K, way to much for the condition.

E Types Sold for a Pittance, in 1984
I had a pair of E-Types that I sold together for $5,000 in 1984. One was a OTS (Roadster) that was one of the rare "first 500" Es, built in October of 1961, number 275 in production.
It had been hit in the front and the bonnet needed some work to repair/replace, but the front subframes were undamaged. The engine was rebuilt and the transmission and rear end were in good condition. Prior to the IH Scout running into her while she was parked on the street, she ran like a top. The other E was a '64 FHC that also ran well but had some rust issues. The coupe bonnet was in good condition, but would have had to been modified to fit the OTS with it's outside bonnet locks.
I am still kicking myself!

If you just kind of pay attention to stuff, and you went back in time 30 years, If you don't end up a trilionaire, you were doing it wrong.

Don't feel too bad over E-Type missed opportunities. Theres a guy on this board that used to own a 500 Gullwing Mercedes. Also, on the Ferrari boards, is a guy who used to daily drive a 250GTO that he sold for like $14k.
It's all relative. I know I've passed on too many good cars and bought too many bad ones. Don't look back...
