Default Anybody else?

I have a big day ahead of me, still have 6 trees to remove from the garden after Aurthur blew its way through this berg. So I got up early and made a pot of "weekend" coffee, the stuff from the specialty shop in town. Then I discovered I was out of cream. Now, mind you I have 3 kinds of milk in the fridge but it's just not the same. I decided what the heck, I will pop down to the convenience store and get a pint of cream. And since it's a lovely day I will take the Jag. Checked the air pressure in the tires, oil level, coolant level, all perfect. As I headed out of the driveway, I thought, south 15 minutes to the store, north 30 minutes, north it is! Hardly anyone up this early so TC off, sport mode on. As I blasted through the quiet country side with AC/DC set to 11, I wonder just how quickly I could get to the store and back so I set the stop watch part of my watch and off I went. Tapping the brakes to control the understeer and mashing the throttle on the exit of each corner brought a wide smile as the new tires protested yet held firmly to their expected trajectory. Up and back 42 minutes not a record but close enough. My question: Is this normal behavior for a 55 year old grandfather or should I seek help?

Sounds like you have it down to once a weekend. That's pretty grandfatherly.

Try upping it to 2-3 times per week. That should help.

Fulton,

I have just one suggestion. In my experience, Meatloaf's "Bat out of Hell" album (alternate = Joe Cocker's "Mad Dogs and Englishmen") makes the car go a little faster.

I let the XK8 take me to work every now and then; mostly mild traffic jams, but some great roundabouts near the office; I arrive in the office with a bit of a sex gloss....

no music though, just the roar.

Bat out of hell almost killed me like 30 years ago being a passenger in an Alfa; Fortunately the music only infactuated the driver, not the Alfa; Think Itai engineering saved the day!

almost 56, teenage kids so no grandpa for awhile hopefully!

ok, so the advise is: Drive faster, more often, and eat meatloaf. Got it.
