Default Anyone JTP824?

Hi all,
before take a 100 km trip to the nearest Jaguar, i would like to know if anyone has the Jaguar part# JTP824 or Alpine part# WD112, the "wipe disk" for navigation system. I cannot see it in the documentation thread. Any suggestion is welcome.

Firts by a cd cleaner kit, insert it and let it clean your reader.

Next

Go to the dealer, its a very cheap service, takes 60 seconds to use the wipe disk.

next

/insert the updated nav disk and your done. Everything fixed in under 4 minutes.

That's that, they may even let you borrow it on the spot and give it right back for free as I have done, just ask the service writer to borrow the disk for a minute.

Yes, i know, but the nearest dealer is 80 km from me + 80 km to get back + half a day job vacation, all for 5 minutes job.
My question is, based on other thread were people exchanged map dvd contents, if somebody owns the wipe disk and can sell, copy, lend it.
That is all, and maybe can be added in How to section........
Thanks in advance
Luca

Take a look at the attached link. If you have a computer store near you chances are they have one you can get for just a few dollars.

Thanks Gus,
But i have already tried it. The nav seems frozen, when switched on the screen is blank, tested two different original dvd and nothing happens, before replacing parts i would like to have a run with the wipe disk, that anyway is needed if i replace dvd reader or screen.
From what i have understood, any replacement requires a wipe of the system, but maybe i am wrong.

Hi all,
I have received from a user of the Xjs forum (mortimerjd) a copy of the content of the wipe disk.
I would like to know which could be the best way to upload it to the forum. For the record, i have mastered it on cd and dvd, the cd copy does not work, the dvd start spinning but nothing happens on my navigator. I would give the chance to others to test it and understand best way to use it.
Thanks in advance
Luca

Luca,

Several members have reported problems trying to get hold of the wipe disk so it would be very useful.

I can add it to the File Download Area in General Tech Help but need to be sure it works and have a set of instructions for burning and using it.

Hi Graham,
here is the procedure for wiping the system. Regarding the burning, i have still to try the same procedure used to burn a map dvd, due to the fact the program i use do not allow the 1x speed. I imagine the right procedure is to burn a dvd+ using the slowest speed as possible (1x is best)
Did you check if the link i send you in mail works and were you able to download the file?
Thanks

Luca,

As I said in my PM, I couldn't find a source to download TSB 419-11 Navigation System Diagnosis and Repair and had to create this PDF from online versions:

419-11 TSB - Navigation System Diagnosis & Repair.pdf

The unzipped 6 file set burned to a DVD-R (mastered) but I have no vehicle to test it on.

Adding to the informationbucket here...

(2002 XKR, nav system went black-screen)

I managed to try out the JTP824 reset. It does load in (you can hear the DVD working overtime to rewrite the nav). It wont fix the black screen issue however.

Definitely worth a try if you've got the constant error or just the clock coming up!

Would you still have files if I get my copy, and I could compare?

Someone on another thread (https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-58809/page10/) said it should be burned to CD.

Too Bad - I'm another trier then...

I love to keep the above thread alive. Or actually not... Cause Lessons learned 2024 may 3rd I need to :-(

- Do not eject Navi disk when navi is starting or power on!

I did so and now both
old (LJE2441GA / Alpine BM9JU91B 1999 - CAT LOGO) and new (C2N3030 - CLOCK Display, 4W83-10E898-GA Alpine BM9JG91F 2002 ISO file name JG_D0_ADB3102.iso)
DVD-disks result error after some 2-3 minutes
"disk can not be read - check disk" (something like that). Hopefully system disk does what it says...

I found OEM wipe system disk one from eBay...

lets see.. I'd like to have my leaper back. Cause after some 10 years I got bored to clock which is min one hour off. Cause navi GPS doesn't support GMT+2 (Summer) timezone.

Default Jaguar X100 2002MY USA Navigation System Disk - wipe success

Start status: "error check DVD disk" or black navi screen - what ever disk and what ever you do.

I got the original Jaguar disk and ... after tricking many many times (bad battery caused likely problems) and
Disks out from navi, Disconnected battery, Ignition key to position I, disk on lips of Navi, connect battery, Navi eats the disk, goto cabin, turn on navi and system erases itself with this kind of view:

And then shows this:

Display after erasing Navigation system with Jaguar JTP824 "Navigator System Disk" aka wipe disk.

Could not run car more in carage to charge battery. So next step is to get charger and trickle Navi to read one of Map disks and complete restore.
