Default Applesauce

So, my wife likes those little plastic individual containers of applesauce. She always has liked them and I keep staring at the empty containers. I took two, cleaned them very well and sprayed the inside black with spray paint. They then fit perfectly over the shock top mount holes on my 2003 XK8 and snap in place. Wow, they look great and they do not cost $30 a piece like the real ones do, if you can find them! They have been on for several months and look fantastic. I do not have to look at the crumbling foam every time I open the hood.

I think that Welsh should offer them as an option for $100 per pair when you buy their new short-lasting shock mounts. Imagine, everyone at the factory eating applesauce at all breaks so that they have a sufficient supply! I think that they could even consider a two year warranty on them.

Default LOL!

Hehehe!

Brilliant bit of writing. Esp. With recent discussion on bad shock mounts... so hide then with plastic caps made from apple sauce containers. LMAO!

Still if it works and lasts for a year you’re onto a solution! Bit like using my wife’s perfume bottle nozzle to replace the power headlight’s missing nozzle.

I tried to meet with the Vice President of Domestic affairs to determine the brand of the applesauce and she had no real recollection. I do remember that I tried one and it fit perfectly and before I could get another one from her she finished the in stock supply and I had to secure one from the next batch. It also fit so, I am assuming that most of them are all pretty much the same size. The second one was a little tighter so there may be a small difference. I know that they were name brand as when it comes to applesauce and shoes she is certainly a snob.

Daro31 did this about a year ago.

I suggested back then that if you coated them with something more substantial than paint, like a rubberized coating, then they would look less flimsy - and way better.

Scott, thanks buddy! Good one about VP of domestic affairs.
Rothwell thanks for the reminder. I had to laugh - when I clicked on your link , I was the 2nd person to discuss it with Dario31! So much for my memory ha ha.
