ASC/TRAC initiated on right turns
The amber ABS/TRAC warning light comes on my 2001 XK8 when I steer right. I checked the right front sensor wire and the wire at the connector feels loose. When I turn the car off and turn the wheel to the left the ABS warnings clear and remain so until the next full right turn. Does anyone have the procedure to remove and install the front sensor wire. I'll try that first to see if it's an easy solution.

Keep in mind that when you turn to the right, you may be stressing the left wheel speed sensor harness and vice-versa. I would clean both wheel speed sensors (remove them and scrub them using an old toothbrush and some dish soap) and check the condition of both front wheel speed sensor harnesses. Look for the rubber boots at the end of the harness splitting and cracking with age. I fixed my wife's XK8's rubber boots several years ago by building up a glob of neutral-cure silicone (available at any Lowe's or Home Depot) about the size of a big marble around each boot, sealing them from the elements once again....
She has not seen another ABS/DSC dashboard warning message since I did this. I check the rubber boots at every tire rotation (6,000-mile intervals) and add a little more silicone if needed. I also scrub the wheel speed sensors at every tire rotation just to be sure....

Sensors cleaned several weeks ago they looked very good. I'm just leaning to the right because the snap connecter feels loose compared to the left connector wire. The right one feels like the wire is broken to me. I would like to swap out the wire if anyone knows the procedure.

The cable is easy enough to change. It has a connector on top of the wheel well under the hood. Some members have just cut the cable near the connectors and soldered in a new pair of wires.
When you remove the cable tie a string to it so you can pull it back through. You may even have to remove the air box because it gets hung up under there.
