Update: Took it to the mechanic yesterday. Great guy. He pulled off the TB so I could send it to the rebuilder in TN. Then he called me to say he put on a used one he had in the shop so I'll have the car until my TB comes back next week. Car is running great with the used one! I think that proves the TB was the problem.

TB Rebuild...
I'll be interested to see how your rebuild TB works out. Seems like a good deal.
I wonder what exactly it is that they rebuild. I guess there's a stepper type motor that could go bad and maybe some circuit panel. And, of course, with Jaguar some connector pins are undoubtedly incompatable with each other!
A lifetime ago I worked for Champion Parts Rebuilders in Chicago and we rebuilt carburetors. Big business. There were lots of springs, seals and floats to wear out, bind, weaken and leak because the carburetors were relatively rough mechanical objects. Fuel injection put them out of buisness for the most part.
