Bad ECM ???

just saying
I've been troubleshooting a similar issue with one cylinder missfire. In my case it was # 8,. Found the issue to be the coil wireing harness. old age and engine bay heat is to blame i'm sure. Bought a good used one and seems to have cured the persistant # 8 missfire.
Still could be the other components in your case, Good luck in your pursuit

If you use ASI, be aware of all their pricing.
I sent my ECM to them for testing and they quoted me a price of $55 dollars if their testing reviled nothing was wrong. They also quoted me a price of $489 dollars if repairs were necessary, $100 dollars over what they advertise on their web site. Said it was because mine was an 05 model and didn't do many 05's, yet they just happened to have plenty ECMs for my car for $689 dollars....
They found no fault with mine and said they sent me a PayPal request to pay the $55 dollars. Never received the PP request. Called and they sent the request to the wrong Email address, so they sent me another request, this time to my correct email address. Never received anything. Had to go to PayPal web site and found where they sent the request to PP, not me.
Any way, I saw where their request was for $75 dollars, not $55. Called them and said the added cost was for shipping. I shipped it to them via UPS and it cost me $12 dollars--their charging me $20.
They probably do good work, but just be aware of all cost or hidden cost before you do business with them. A little shaky in that area.
Note: Just got a notice that unit has shipped--however, by the Postal Service. I used UPS.
Cheers

Although I more or less had a negative comment on ASI returning my ECM by the Postal Service, I should have my mouth washed out with soap. I must report that the unit arrived a day and a half from notice of shipment, which is by any standard, excellent.
My address for receiving shipment of auto parts or products (where my shop is located) is basically in the country and my young lady mail carrier normally comes around between 2 and 3 pm daily, but today arrived at 10:30 am with the ECM. Didn't get a chance to ask her why so early, but there you are--excellent service from the Postal Service and of course ASI.
Thought I should make a retraction.
Cheers

Brian2001,
You'll note in post #25 above, they had one for mine right away and wanted $689 for it. Maybe it's just your year model. I'd push them a little. Did they tell you that yours was bad?
Anyway, after something over 800 bucks, the shop found that I had a dead injector. They replaced it with a NEW one and the car runs great. If your injectors were reman's, that's what I would suspect. I purchased a set of reman's when I replaced mine and that's what I ended up with. Beware!!
cheers

RJ237 said something important. Disconnect the negative Batt terminal and short it to the positive terminal. This instantly bleeds all the caps down to zero voltage. That is a hard reset. Make 100% sure the Batt is good (load test). Reconnect the Batt and try things again. I worked with a major company that refurbed ECU's, about 75% of the time they just left the units on the shelf for a week and let all the caps bleed down. That solved the problems. And it is FREE!

I got the car back yesterday The problems they found was a vacuum leaks at breather pipe fitting at throttle body and intake camshaft adjuster "stuck" on A bank. I took the car to a garage in late Dec 2016 to have a smoke test for air leaks and fuel pressure checked, they said everything was good . I guess it pays to take it to a specialist then your local shop it would of save me lots of headaches (but what a learning experience and had fun). We figure the vacuum leak was the main cause.
I would like to thank all of you for your help
Thanks
