Hello to everyone, I have a question about the battery in my XKR(2001) The battery needs to replaced, and after talking to the service center they mentioned that not all batteries are compatible to Jaguars and that I should purchase my battery from them. Now being a first time Jaguar owner I would like to know if this true or is he just trying to make a sale.
Can anyone help me out? Thank you in advance!

He is good at what he does.
Jaguar do not run a Jaguar specific battery.
The car requires a battery of specific CC capacity, and Reserve capacity.
The size/capacity/terminal location/vent tube are all specific for many, many cars.
From memory, your Jag requires a Din100 (some markets call it N100) battery. This is a European spec casing/terminal layout, and is used in many Euro cars.
Check around please, as there are many more honorable people in my opinion.
