Default Battery changing

Hi,

I'll soon be replacing the battery on my '04 XKR & have seen a memory saver advertised which plugs into the power socket so saving having to re-enter the radio code etc.

I was figuring that I could do the same with the trickle charger connected to the charge point under the bonnet.

Anyone else think this is a good idea?

Thanks as always

Six of one and half a dozen of the other really, either way will work.

If you have the radio codes I would just perform the swap and reset windows / radio it isn't that hard or complicated. I (almost) always perform a HardReset before reconnecting my battery, while not required I've never had a issue.

Some "smart" chargers detect the presence of a battery and may not act as expected when used in this way.

The CTEK however, has the ability to become a power supply via the mode switch.
