What battery does this board recommend for 98 XK8 convertible? I can't find anything at sears, interstate has megatron 720 cca for $185, autozone has 850 cca for $135,and advance auto has 760 cca for $137. is it ok to just find a size 49 with vent that fits?
It seems when the battery gets a little low on voltage, the engine does not turn over at all, in fact when I turned the key, there is no sound (ie engine doesn't crank even slowly). Guess these cars are very voltage sensitive.
Thanks for any advice pro or con on battery choices!

Hello, if you want the BEST battery available try an Odyssey AGM Battery the one that fits the XK8/XKR is PC1350 (fits perfectly ). It has a standing voltage of 13.875 and a 4 year total replacement warranty (no pro rate).
I bought from California 329.00 with free shipping. This battery is better than an optima yellow top and better warranty. a bit expensive but worth it. It gets a full charge in 4-6 hours (optima 12-24hours) and has a higher standing voltage.
A very efficient Battery, better built, safer AGM type(dryCell battery).
This battery, Odyssey PC1350 is perfect for older cars as it excepts a charge much easier than other batteries, since the cables and charging system gets older and less efficient over the years (oxidation) for charging the battery up this is a important feature.

Tony gives Great customer service if something does go wrong with battery all you have to do is take off top battery label and send it to him and he will ship you a new battery, it's that simple.

Consumer reports 2010 battery testing:

Link to a 2006 TSB that mentions Interstate as authorized replacements:

I bought an Interstate from Firestone because it is local and the guys that work there are cool. Seems like it cost about $120. Who the hell knows if it will be any good, I just makes my choices and takes my chances.
