Beeping crazy

Beeping crazy
Hello Friends, I have a 2001 Jaguar XK8. Last month my car started beeping and i can't figure it out why. It beeps 5 beeps in a series of 5 times. A total of 25 beeps. It then stops and repeats about every half hour. Has anyone else had issue? It's driving me crazier than i already am
Help.
Help.

Isn't that the warning beep sequence for an air bag system problem ?
Edit
Just found this from JTIS:
The RCM (Restraints Control Module) monitors the SRS for possible faults. If a fault is detected while the ignition switch is in the RUN position, the RCM will illuminate the air bag indicator located in the instrument cluster. Malfunction of SRS components or associated circuits will cause the SRS indicator to illuminate. If the warning lamp fails, a fault code is recorded and a warning tone is sounded. The ECS will also communicate the current and historical DTCs through the data link connector (DLC), using the Portable Diagnostic Unit (PDU). If the air bag indicator does not function, and the system detects a fault condition, the ECS will activate an audible chime. The chime is a series of five sets of five tone bursts. If the chime or buzzer is heard, the SRS and the air bag indicator requires service.

Bass, let's focus this a bit please. I can think of two types of beeps:
1. Security sounder ( the one that beeps locked armed)
2. In car alert. This one beeps through the speaker under the steering wheel for many different reasons.
3. I think there is an alert for backup proximity warning. I don't have this so can't picture it.
Which beep are you hearing?
Is there any rhyme or reason associated with when this occurs?
Does it start and run normally?
Where is the key, with relation to the vehicle, when beeping occurs?

I have the backing beep. It's not that. It's coming from what seems like the same area around the steering wheel base on the dash but is a higher pitch I think. I turn on the vehicle and in about one minute it starts. 5 beeps then a pause, then 4 more series of 5 beeps with pauses. Then it stops and starts again every 30 minutes or so. The cars starts and runs fine. The key is in the ignition and the car is running when it occurs.

Thanks, good info. Now we have to put the thinking cap on. Standby my friend.
The fact that its occurring when key in, engine running eliminates all the beeps around shifter that I can think of. . .
Let me launch 2 question to the forum:
1. when one is programming in a new key transmitter, does it involve 5 beeps?
2. My car has no "fasten your seat belt" warning, from what I've read, this is true for all models right?
Bass, do us a favor and please acknowledge: that battery is fully charged. Should have been my question #1. No custom stereo, alarm, or radar detector right? (Obvious but just eliminating what i can mate)
Do you have a RealGuage installed?
Engine running: what causes beeps?
1. Convertible top sequence begins or ends.
2. ?

Maybe you could post a recording of the sound and someone might recognize it.
There is not to my knowledge a high pitched beep from any OEM part of the car. There is:
What you describe sounds (ha) like it may be some aftermarket alarm system or integrated radar detector perhaps.
There is not to my knowledge a high pitched beep from any OEM part of the car. There is:
- The fast boop boop boop boop for the shift interlock
- The nook nook nook of the turn signal
- The single chirp lock, double chirp unlock and the long "you left your bonnet unlatched" of the alarm system (which is outside the cabin)
- The variable frequency beep of the back up sensors
- The boong of the adaptive cruise control when some yob cuts in front of you on the highway
- There is a chime for the seatbelt (I think, it has been a while since I tried this one) but only until it has been latched once and then can be undone with no consequence
