I've had so many cars over the years I can't even remember them all. Some stand out probably due to the repair issues. My first car was a triumph tr6. At 16, any repair was expensive! Then my dad traded it for a 1968 XKE conv and all I can say is WOW. Not a day went by that we weren't fixing something!! And I got used to the smell of electric melting!! Studabaker Hawk, constant repairs, several bmw's Volos, Porsches. I don't know how to own a car without issues. As you an see, I'm not a fan of the average daily driver so I expect repairs. I would have to say my 2003 Porsche boxster has been surprisingly reliable. Not one major repair but TONS in cosmetic upgrades!! Even my 2010 XF has been in for some costly repairs but under warranty!!
My 69 corvette was one of the worst cars for repair I ever owned. And it never felt sturdy.
As for my 2002 XK8, I've addressed most of the major issues so I'm hoping to have a few months of trouble free driving but I'm sure that's a fools dream.
Love these cars because every year more and more disappear from the road.
Lets keep as many running as possible!!!!

Interesting to read this thread . I nearly bought. A 2001 xk8 , low low miles that needed a few things but afte r research realized it would need thousands more . Ended up buying a 94 60,000 mile xjs that needed a couple grand over first 3 or 4 months but has been a beauty for 2 yrs now and also bought a Mercedes 560 sl after hearing about $4000 repair to top almost always needed on next model convert able . Doing work myself have only spent about 500 on Benz . I agree that a $ 60,000 car should b more reliable. Best value out the is a used cadallac . Not very expensive ,runs great , 24 mpg and reliable . But ohh the heart wants what the heart wants ! Love love love my jags !!!
