If you are in love with all things jaguar or just love your XK8 this book is fantastic. Just finished the saga of how the car almost never got produced and how the design developed over the initial concept to the final product. Into the chapter on the incredible engine. Man, I love my car more than ever. It's a miracle car if ever there was one.
There has been so much confusion over the replacement engine I have in my car. Assumed it was a Nikasil engine and was later told the engine was replaced with the upgrade. Couldn't find the engine number. Now found it and it is a Nikasil. But, I for one am glad it is Nikasil. Why they chose Nikasil and how it improves performance, why they changed. . . what a story.
I think I'll treat the car to a refinished paint job!
I just bought a copy last week "Used - Very Good Condition" through Amazon UK for a little over $36 US, including shipping: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/19014321...991_TE_3p_dp_1
Prices for the book new are now crazy, many over $100 US!
Well, Fulton. It means one of two things: Either general interest in our cars "is" rising (and taking our values with it), or, .... current owners are even more slap-happy than previous generations. Which in that case means values are only going up "in our minds" - lol
