Brake Pedal adjustment Q

Brake Pedal adjustment Q
Is it possible to adjust the levels of the brake pedal and accelerator pedal.
I keep catching my size 9's on the edge of the brake pedal when moving from the accelerator to the brake. This could in the worst case cause me a breaking delay when i need to stop fast.
i would like to have the pedals almost at the same height, the brake pedal is about an inch and a half above the level of the accelerator pedal at the moment.
Also can anyone PM me the TSB for the headrest fix, as I intend to do this fix ASAP.
Cheers

Look up the "throttle cable" adjustment procedure (this is a tool-free adjustment of the cable by the brake booster, 5 min thing). This adjustment alone might let you drive the car with a lot less pedal travel and make it seem much more level with the brake pedal. I did that adjustment on my own car shortly after acquiring it, and it made a huge difference in the way the car felt.
As a general statement, maybe take a breather before committing to any harsh modification in the pedals area. Check other cars, talk to friends/neighbors/coworkers. Pedal placement is sort of a huge thing that manufacturers have to get right (remember the Audi debacle in the 80's, or even Toyota in more recent memory, "sudden acceleration" etc.). I would personally make every effort to find a way to get some peace with the way it is if it turns out to be in line with other cars around you.
Just my thoughts. Best of luck, keep us posted.

Hey. Thanks for the info.
Its not that the throttle is too low - more that the top of my foot catches on the stuff above the break peddle and behind the driver’s bolster. As far as I can work out it’s the break servo unit? Or something similar looking. Don’t really want to go messing with the throttle, because that’s fine - driving position is fine. Just the top of my foot hanging up on whatever is above that break peddle. If the peddle was lower (more like the throttle) then I would have clearance for my foot.

It is a pain to get down there and explore (maybe use a mirror), but on my car there is a horizontal thick foam pad (rubberized at the bottom) that forms some form of obstruction. That pad has to be put aside to perform the very common repair of the brake switch. Maybe your is missing or bent out of the way and allows your feet to get up there. FWIW, removing the bolster is pretty easy (2 screws at the bottom, and 2 catches on top, plus unplug a couple of connectors) and can give you more room for additional inspection.
