Default holder delete

forehead sore from slapping it with my palm for not thinking of that to begin with. Any easy fit options out there? I have left over leather from redoing the front seats. I can see filling in the gap on the armrest base, but then the latch would have to be cobbled up some way....or leave it latchless.....maybe remove enough of the holder to allow filling in the gap while leaving the latch......or remove the cover, glue it shut, remove the holder release button, and refoam and cover the whole thing.

Thumbs up My Cup Holder Fix

Hi,

Have not posted in a long time but my 95 XJR cup holder finally broke and I knew about the weak design around the spring tensioner. I wanted to share my fix and thus far cup holds up well. I studied the design and found out the weak area and fixed it with some "2.5 x 1/4 Lag Screws Washer Hex Head" and "Speed Nut U Screw Size 1/4-20 " hardware.

Here are some images.
