Brushed aluminum wrapped fascia.

IMO, the titanium/gunmetal looks the most expensive and would work in all color interiors. And the real finishing touch is the chrome shifter surround and the chrome instrument rings. Against the titanium, it's amazing. If my wrap gets here today or tomorrow, I'm doing it Sunday.
I'm going to attempt the door handle surrounds too.

Turned Metal Wrap Attempt
OK this stuff is a bitch to work with. It doesn't like my 3M rapid tack at all and heat causes it to deform, when they say it doesn't stretch they mean it. It didn't even like my 3M smoothing tool. So you likely need their set liquid (it is clearly a different adhesive) and I doubt you can get it to work in the vents (too many curves) on the gauges you'll likely need rings. But here is a shot with my attempt on the passenger air bag cover (I had a spare to mess with).
It does look kind of cool.

WOW!! I'm completely sold.
That looks very nice, I think it would be worth perfecting a way to wrap it around curves.
I see where it wouldn't comply in the corners.
I wonder if superglue simply enough would help hold it?
Or better yet soften the finish of the wood with a urethane reducer before applying the wrap.

That does look pretty cool but too bad you couldn't do the vents.
I found this one that is a 2mil film and self adhesive. Wonder if it would be easier to work with?

It actually looked good
Here is a shot of the old F-Type Prototype based on the XK, it is an impressive look when done. (I included a couple shots of the whole car in case you hadn't seen it before or just wanted to lust a bit).

That is more than half the price of the other stuff! Definitely worth trying it out.
The thickness might make it hard to wrap around the edges.

Ok. I have a bone to pick!!
If I had done this to my interior, I would have been drummed off this site!! Lol
It's cool and I like it but I think if you're going to do this to the interior, you've GOT to carry it through the whole car. That console treatment would have looked AWESOME with my blacked out, hood bulged, murdered out car. But in a classic XK8, it's a bit foriegn.
I'm still totally befuddled that you guys love this metal dash treatment!! It's very 60's muscle car.

Ok, that last post being said, now that I realize the car it's going in, it works.
CHEERS enderle!!
On a side note, I got my gunmetal wrap but unfortunately it's was plain silver aluminum. TOO bright! They're sending me the correct wrap so I guess I'll have to wait another week to do it. Ugh! BUT, I can tell its gonna be HOT. Not the dramatic turned metal look enderle has used, but cool none the less.

If you've got some time and money you can make your own:

Well looks like I can forget about upgrading to a newr xkr or a maserati GT and instead I'll be making that!

To be fair, Rob got as much crap as you did for his mods. Especially the bonnet art.
I think the engine turned dash is a cool idea, but I don't think I would do it. To me it's like a yellow car, looks great but I'm not sure I would want to see it in my driveway every morning.
Even I got some chiding about the chrome R strips in my bonnet vents, but you know what, I left it that way, because I like it!

Yellow car, you psychic?
Wow, it's almost as if you knew what was in my garage right now... (see below). I think I like my carbon fiber better, I'm just trying to see if I can get this stuff to work on the dash pieces I have as spares.

That's funny.
I had the opportunity to drive one of those a few years ago. From the inside it was great, nicely done interior, lots of torque, nice transmission. Easy to drive, and you could use it every day. I'd be perfectly happy... if I never got out of it.
The outside though, oh boy, I just can't get past all the sharp angles. I know it's the Lambo way but it just doesn't do it for me. I need something sensual and curvy in my garage.
On a completely unrelated topic, what is that you have on the garage floor? I ask because I'm putting the floor in my shop and once it's cured want to protect it from drippy British cars and the like.

I got the flooring from Costco, it's held up really well (all you need is a rubber mallet) they even have edging. MotoFloorŽ Garage Tiles Charcoal
