Hi Mike just a couple of thoughts. Five years ago I was trying to decide between the x100 and x150 as both were in my budget. I really liked the x150 because it was newer technology and the later generation. In the end I went with a X100 convertible simply because it is one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen.

Good advice above +1. If you're not willing to do most of the maintenance on any high dollar car they will break you and your wallet. BTW... you have found the greatest car forum on the internet right here. There is not a question, problem or how to that a member(s) here cannot help you with.

Lastly, ask your buddy who's fond of BMWs about reliability. Recently I was considering a BMW 650i till I started researching the model for potential problems. All I can say is I'll be sticking with my xk8 thank you very much.

As usual I agree with Sam above. You will not be stopped in parking lots or find people wanting to talk to you about a BMW. I can not go anywhere without people commenting or staring at my car when I park it. Most folks don't know what they're looking at but they know they love it.

Good luck on your quest!
