The big circular thing is the adapter plate to mount AT trans and motor (for now I will be using AT, will swap to MT later in line)
The hub looking thing is coupler to link motor shaft with flywheel & TQ.
Two long bar is used to mount all this onto the original engine mount.
Last but not least, The big square thing is 400HP capable DC controller.
All made from aircraft grade aluminum.
Thank you guys for the support. I actually appreciate all comments to keep myself motivated!

Will you use the inverters watercooling excess heat for cockpit heaters?
Keep up the good work.

unfortunately DC controller wont be producing so much heat, I wont be using it as a heating resource.
(unlike Tesla, I wont be doing DC -> AC to spin the motor so it's not inverter)
For the heating, I am considering to purchase one of those electric heater, disassemble it then use the c
eramic
heating element as a replacement for the heater core in the car. They can be turned on in few second and does produce a lot of heat.
I just wanted to say I love your project and am looking forward to your success.
I was listening to your calculations and I was wondering:
1. You removed the V8 engine and it has a dry weight of 200 Kgs (441 lbs), would you put batteries up front to equal the old engine weight?
2. You removed a 20 gallon gas tank from the trunk, with a full load of fuel that comes to 82 Kgs (180 lbs), is your plan to have a tail heavy Jag or are you trying to maintain or improve the handling?

Great questions. I am currently calculating all the removed ratio vs planning yo add.
What I want to achieve is closest to 50/50 ratio but by the looks of it, it's easily said then done.
I am planning to place about 120kg of batteries to where the tank once was, at least 100kg of batteries on the from with motor(preferably as low as possible too).
Rest of batteries will be decided up into where space is. Also, I'd like to keep the overall weight about the same as before(1600kg -1700kg)
Slightly tail heavy may not be a bad thing considering it will have over 300Nm of torque from dead stop.

Might be able to use that dead space behind the front sets, AKA the back seats. Take them out completely and some type of cover should be easy to fabricate.

I have thought about that too. Strange thing to say but I'd like to keep everything else as original as possible...well interior wise. (yes, I am planning to put CF bonnet, Yes, I am gonna change the body kit soon or later, and yes, I want to upgrade to Brembo brakes)
If I cant find any good place for the batteries I will remove the rear seat.
(rear seat removal would let me save so much more weight and better weight distribution too.)
If anyone an convince me that the rear seat is waste of space, I will get rid of it

Get a friend to drive and you ride in the back seat behind them for about 30 minutes. That should convince you.
Been there done that, It's not that all bad...I mean, Knowing you can have 2 more complaining passenger gives me a little comfort in back of my mind.
I'd be very difficult to create professional looking battery box on the rear too.
Just my 2 cents but I don't think I'd want the batteries in the passenger compartment for a couple reasons.
1 - safety, in an acciendent I don't want a couple hundred pounds of batteries slamming into me
2 - Battery fumes
I have no love for the back seat and plan to remove mine for just a package shelf but batteries I think not.
Any way Rui appears to have way more engineering experience than I do so I'll defer to his judgement on his car.

Totally agree in regards with the heavy battery situation.
I've looked at some of our forum seat delete and they do look tempting and classy.(European standards prohibits high voltage within the passenger cabin.)
1, If I do place cells there, I will cut out the plate between the boot and cabin and create extended metal box to fit my batteries.(Imagine if fuel tank got longer towards passenger cabin)
2,Lithium cells do not produce fumes during charging nor discharging so no worries.
Getting gauges to work and all warning lights off.....
Hello, this is Andrew from Jaguar Specialties- I just noticed this thread about the EV conversion XK8. Very interesting.....
I wanted to pass along one bit if info- if you're interested to use the standard jag instrument cluster and manage all of the extra warning lights and messages, one of our XJ/XK CAN interface modules will work. It will maintain full dash function (including speedometer, ABS and other warnings, etc.,.) but will disable all warning lights and messages to the cluster relative to the transmission or engine. I'm not clear how your transmission will operate here without input from the engine, but ultimately, when you go manual, our unit will be perfect. We have a running/driving XK8 with a manual trans here and it works perfectly.....
Note- we use these modules for our XK8/XJ8 GM LS engine conversions and they have worked without a hitch.
For more info, please get in touch with me off-list; send me a PM
Happy New year!
So, I've been away for some time between Christmas, New year!
Here is what I've got up to till now!
Removed as much parts as I can and cleaned the whole engine room with Scrubbing Bubbles (bought 3 of them) and now sanding down the old paint off.
I've bought Primer, Black paint, Urethane clear Coat.
This will be done hopefully by the end of this month.
I cant work on the car for now as I am currently in Germany (Spain next week) for my work.
Oh, Also, got those dirty Engine mount removed. (currently sitting with alcohol cleaner and making it nice and clean!)
