well, Here are quick update: ・so, removed the rear seat for sell and I've noticed that on the back of it, it say 883 WB....now, does that mean 883rd xk8 coupe made?
・managed to cut out the rear seat firewall (harder than I thought)
Next up is to make the rear battery boxes with automotive slide rail!
(hopefully I can get it done by the end of next month!)

I am still alive and well, The project is still going but due to my work load, it's going at snails pace...
I'll upload some photos later on but the rear end battery box has been completed. I am now working on Slide rail mechanism.
(waiting on custom parts to arrive as well)

I've been working on rear battery box for decade now....lol
I don't know where the time went but here are some updates.
So far, I've worked out the Sliderail mechanism and started fabricating the boxs(2). Two of these boxes will store 24x2 batteries.
First picture is where I had to make the hole for the battery compartment little higher and attached rubber protection around it.
I've found some cool parts while making it;
Do you guys know what U-nut is? (video of it in Japanese)
It's a type of a lock-Nut that's simple and reusable. So, I've decided to use these for the rail fixture.
Battery compartment increased in hight
Taper M5 12mm bolt + U-nut
Battery box complete (need to paint it)
Slide rail ready to install!
Next up:
- Needs to paint the box and start making the car side of the rail fixture.
- rear passenger battery box to be made
- Front ICE(motor) compartment area design

Oh God...don't mention it...but here is an excel sheet i've made for the project. EV Budget.xls
But, the long story short, I've spent roughly £35k !
・most expensive being the battery at a cost of £10K
・initial car was about £5k
・Motor, controller, charger are £3k, £2.5K and £2.8k
・rest are electronic components, few car upgrade parts and tools

I am sure that you will engineer a very solid locking mechanism for the box and barrier door for the compartment.
It wouldn't be any fun to slam on the brakes and then be hit in the back of the head with a hundred kilos or so of batteries...
I don't have much of an update but here are the latest.
I've finished making the rear battery box and did the test fitting...
well, the height is perfect but the width is not
Due to the slight curve on the bottom sides, I must have miscalculated the length...Needs to make the hole bigger...again...
