Default Cannot find a Gasket for the differential

I'm trying to locate (on the web) a Gasket for the differential cover for a 1997 XK8. Supposedly they are sealed for life, but I want to get in there while the Rear end is out just to check it out. The fluid really should be changed IMO and there's a chance there is a lot of sludge not to mention possible metal shavings. Worst case scenario I'll just make my own. Oh what kind of fluid should I use? Have not researched that, but just throwing it out there

Thanks anyone/ everyone
Bruce

Maybe try the word "seal". I typed "97 XK8 Differential Seal" and got lots of options on a Google search. Jagbits being one of them.

Also, here is a link on the fluid. See GGG link in #2 of this.

Lastly, that fill plug is a bear to get to when the Diff is on the car from what I understand. I read on the forum that one of the guys drilled and tapped for a more accessible plug. Something to think about when you have the opportunity you do right now!

Bruce,

The Parts Catalogue doesn't list a gasket for the cover.

Usually this happens where RTF is used as a sealant.

You can use liquid gasket for the cover.
