Default cant get hood open

2003 xkr, pop the latch and i hear a click but hood does not move. if i try and manually lift on the drivers side, its dead solid, if i manually lift on the passengers side the hood lifts up slightly (appears to unlatch). Since the hood dips down under the hood there is no way to get a screwdriver or even a thin spatula under there to try and move the latch. I heard the only thing to do is remove the wheel and the inner fender guard, plastic piece, and then there is a hole whereby someone can go up there with a screwdriver and unlatch it??? ANYONE ever done this or give me more pointers?? This the way to go??

You might try this. Push down on the driverside and then have someone pull the latch. The tension on the latch my keep it from popping! If you relieve the pressure maybe the latch will give.

Just a thought!

I've never done it, but removing the wheel well liners is very simple. You'll be able to figure it out just by looking at them. Once the wheel is off it's a three minute job.
