Perfectphoto,
Thanks for that. Very honest assessment of the brand, and totally agree with Car Wizard’s assessment of the X100. It’s a beautiful car and cheap to buy. Buyers - either you’re willing to work on the car yourself or you’ll need to have a fat wallet. Best to be both. LOL!
This car is best suit to DIY shade tree mechanics and Jag enthusiasts with a decent bank balance.

I understand the Wizard's assessments of the Jaguar lineup and respectfully disagree (as you might imagine) with that of the X-Types. One of mine has 152,000 miles on it, and the other 108,000 miles. Are they subject to annoying and frustrating issues? Of course, but the Jaguar addiction knows few limitations. But the fact that Jaguars remain in production and are considered to be some of the most beautiful cars ever made counts for a lot. How about a small round of applause for us DIYer's and shade tree mechanics who keep these cars running despite the obstacles so that when we decide to sell, there are still good examples to buy.

I saw this video as well. I was ready to flame him if he did the Brand wrong, but pretty much agree with the statements. He despises the XJS, but he was right, you definitely need mechanical knowledge as there are no diagnostics to run on the car, etc. I will disagree that the ergonomics are bad; I think the XJS is quite comfortable and when that V12 is purring nicely, it's addicting, but should not be purchased for the "budget classic buyer".
