I would stick with a product that is intended for leather rather than using car wax on the seats. Lexol leather treatment products have served me well for many years on all of our vehicles as well as on our leather furniture. Our Stressless leather chairs (both purchased in 1985) still look nearly new. I attribute that to occasional cleaning with a damp sponge followed by a light application of Lexol….
Also, I wear only 100% cotton gym shorts or sweatpants when sitting on any leather surfaces that we own. I firmly believe that has greatly extended the life of the leather....

Jon89 has it right. The existing products intended for leather are all that’s needed extend the appearance of a re-dyed seat.
Note: regardless of the product used, re-dying is not permanent and will have to be re-done if the car sees much use at all. A few or many, age cracks show a cars character. Not a bad thing imho.

There are a lot of mixed opinions regarding the treatment of leather seats. I can only speak about what works for me. I use a good quality car leather cleaner, I accept the fact that others know far more about these things than myself so I followed the advice of these guys Leather Cleaners and use the Dodo Juice Supernatural. It certainly works. Then a good leather conditioner. I do my seats in spring. I give them a good clean. Repair and paint any damaged areas. Then leave that a month or so to set. On with a disposable rubber glove. Put on to the seats a good quality conditioner. Ensure its spread and rubbed in all over the seats. Keep the doors, windows closed on a hot day. Leave it overnight. The next day wipe off any excess with a terry towel and give the seats a good polish with another terry towel. It may sound immodest but when I have finished my seats look like new again, not to mention they smell lovely. Like new leather seats should.
If I can restore a seat like this...... (it was on a BMW) the Jag seats are a doddle.

And just after the clean up it looked like this

Last year my Jag seats looked like this before I started to do my annual job on them.

IVORY INTERIOR IN 2005 XKR COUPE
Frankc,
We have the same color combination Interiors.....I have tried to find the Color name and number of the Steering Wheel Leather and Dash but have been told so many different Colors that I have just given-up.....! Since you are the known Jaguar Expert on color combinations, I thought I would press my luck and ask you.....Do you have any idea?

Billy,
The steering wheel colour options on the 2005 were Sable or Warm Charcoal.
According to my brochures and JEPC, the standard single colour facia option:
Warm Charcoal/WarmCharcoal
The standard contrasting facia options:
Sable/Cashmere
Sable/Ivory
Warm Charcoal/Dove
Warm Charcoal/Ivory

Thanks! Graham,
So, it appears that my combination would be Sable Steering Wheel, Dash and Carpets to go with the Ivory Interior....in the Ebony/Black exterior....
Does someone in the US re-cover our Steering Wheels? Mine is getting a little worn where my Thumb rests... the color has darkened and someone said it would not take die in the darken area....?
