Default CD option disappeared

My CD option disappeared
I was getting " no cont" displays and I have no clue what that means. I could still get one of the discs to play, but now the cd player doesn't even show up as a choice on the radio display. There is power to the changer because the cartridge insert and eject work fine. Wouldn't be a fuse then.

Do you have a Bluetooth addition in line?

Gosh I'm trying to remember the fix, this happened to me once too. Look I'm going to have to step away and try to dig up that memory, sorry.

In the meantime try unplugging and replacing the DIN cord at the changer.

Olp, I feel dumb I can't recall what caused it once or twice on my 98. I'm betting on the connector (virtual Y connection selector between the cd player L/R signal and Bluetooth L/R audio, the discount stereo unit sometimes has problems with a swinging bad connection in that box. Problem is, the swinging open affects left channel and that just causes audio drop out . . . How could that cause no CD. (I was hoping I'd remember as I typed, no luck.

Time for a hard reset at the battery mate.

Shortly after I bought my '97 the head unit packed it in, LCD quit working and no functions. Like you I wanted to keep it as stock as possible so I bought a new head unit which solved the no CD and radio problem and then I bought a unit that plugs into the cigar lighter for the phone and USB stick that plays on the radio.
PS I love that you named it Pandora, hilarious.

Just remembered. The data link between cd changer and radio was open = no cd option displayed.

I don't think you confirmed breaking / making the connection at the changer. Try it.
