Default Celebration! P1111 for the first time in three years.

I bought my 2000 XKR in july 2020, and a couple of days after I got the engine fault light.
After purchasing a Bluetooth generic ODB2 scanner and search this forum, I found out that I had a small leak in the evap system.
First step was to buy a new gas cap - that did not help.
Then after a lot of reading I found out that this could be a PITA to find exactly where the leak is.
Well, my solution was to let the scanner just sit in the ODB2 port, and every time I got tired of the yellow light on the dash, I just deleted the fault code with my phone. Easy!
For a couple of months a go, when my Jag was in winter storage, I took a look under the car to figure out why I got a clunk in the rear suspension - that was the lower shock absorber bushing.
While I lay under there I thought of this leak and took a closer look at the hoses, carbon canister and so on.
Then I discover that the plastic pipe going into the left canister felt a little loose. I do have a set of O-rings, and found one that was about the same dimensions. When I put the pipe back in the canister, I was disappointed, because it still felt loose.
But now, for the first time in my ownership, I have used two tanks of fuel and still no orange light on the dash! And my scanner shows me P1111 and not P1000 !!!!!

Default P0442 fix

I have had a similar problem for the past 3 years of ownership that I've been tracking down on a 2001 XK8 - check engine light comes on with a P0442 (small emissions leak). Some of the remedies attempted included replacing the canister purge mechanism behind the driver's front wheel, smearing various sealers around the gas cap, and checking the fuel pumps. In the end, it came down to exactly the same problem source: a loose connector at the carbon canister. Rather than replacing the gasket (which cannot be ordered separate from the hose assembly), the junction was wrapped with stretch tape as shown below. I am also thrilled that after clearing the codes and a couple drive cycles, the check engine light is OFF.
