Default Center Console Big Fat Ground Wire goes?

I removed my center console and this large ground wire is not connected!! It comes off of the tunnel and I suspect it attaches to the metal frame that holds the center consoles instrument cluster yet it doesn't fit the bolt. Based on the cables length, I've been looking for it's termination point to no avail. Any ideas?

Definitely not fitted to that bolt. Here's the equivalent view of my standard 2001 XK8:

I found a thread here that talks about the radio earth lead that comes of the chassis and connects to the radio. Being that the previous owner removed the original stereo and installed a JVC stereo, I bet this was overlooked in the installation and I'm confident the earth strap in question does in fact go the radio.

If it really was a ground lead then surely you would have issues with some electrical items not working? As you have not mentioned any other issues I wouldn't be to concerned about it

Being that it was such a large strap, I knew it had to be important and SNG Barratt lists a "Radio Earth Strap" so I'm assuming the earth strap in my photo is that. With todays high powered stereos and amps, it makes sense to have that heavy of a ground wire.

Terrys Jaguar Parts lists this....Not too sure what to make of it....Could#2 be it? Maybe not....

Yes - 100% sure it is the ground strap for the (original) radio head unit.
