Closing back windows of xk8
When I put my top up, the back windows close last, but not completely sealing with the front window seals. Any explanation for this? A ding goes off prior to the windows closing completely, but leaving about a 3/8 inch seam where the air and weather can come in.

If you'll browse down a bit to the Rear Window Adjustment thread ...

... you'll find just about everything known about this problem to date: not uncommon; pretty easy to improve; not to easy to solve completely.
Good luck.

I had the same problem with my 1/4 window. Turned out to be, according to my Jaguar Service dealer, the bushings in the 1/4 window regulator. Jaguar replaced the regulator as I had an extended warranty. The cost to the insurance company was $1200. The price included parts $399 plus labor. Labor time is extensive and took approximately 7 hours. This problem can also be caused by the regulator mounting bolts coming loose. You can see this by taking off the top cover of the regulator and looking down inside where the regulator is. When you push and pull on the 1/4 window you can see if the regulator assembly is moving. If it is loose you will have to take out the rear seat completely and the side speaker cover. There is a thread on how to do this, then you can tighten the bolts or replace the regulator. The job takes a while but can be done if you have a little mechanical ability and use the thread in the forum.
