Default Convertible hydraulic leak - where is it from?

My car has a leak from the convertible top hydraulic system and I can see where it is coming out of the car but not sure what is leaking. When I put the roof up I get oil dripping from the drain area of the rear floor on the drivers side (right hand drive car) under the rear footwell. There is quite a lot coming out - the roof needs topping up after every 3 cycles - so I could do to get this sorted. If anyone can help as to whether it is rams or hoses I need to get I would be really grateful

It's probably the cylinders, which can be rebuilt. You need to remove the rear seat to access it. Use the search function to get info on the procedure.

I have read that procedure - it just seemed that the oil was further forward than the cylinders so I wondered if it might be coming from somewhere else. I guess it flows to the lowest point and then finds an exit. Thanks for your reply.

I had oil in that area when one of my ram hoses gave out at the pump - might be worth checking - it's easy enough to unbolt the pump and check their condition. If it is a ram hose you will still have the same amount of dismantling to access the connections to the rams. It isn't difficult, just time consuming.

Thanks, I'll check that. It has been needing topping up for a while now and I haven't noticed any oil elsewhere. With the recent weather improvement I have been operating the top a little more and it is particularly when putting it up that it leaks, lowering it doesn't seem to lose much.

Default Check the hoses

Check the hydraulic hoses on the RAM's on the side where the leak is coming from. I'd be willing to bet its the hoses connected to it. You will need to remove the backseat and speaker boxes to check the hoses.

I also assist in this type of repair.

Please let me know.
