Convertible Owners How Many Of You Put The Tonneau Cover On While Riding Topless ?

That sounds like a great idea I had not thought of. So did you scotchguard both the outside (canvas) as well as the inside? What did you use? I used Wolfsteins fabric protectant on the outside but have not done anything to the inside.

I use Raggtopp protectant. My first application, I taped off the areas around the top and sprayed many coats. Top still looks new for 9 years old. Also usually leave the top down with the top cover in place in the summer and I use the interior cover from California Car Cover when I park the car. Easy to put on and take off.

There is a guy I found on ebay who makes the tonneau's as well as the storage bag. I bought a bag from him (since I already had the tonneau) and was really impressed with this guy. His name is Charles Whitney and his ebay store is clwco (I believe he is physically located in the San Diego area). When I was talking with him on the phone he took quite a bit of pride in explaining to me how he had improved the tonneau design compared with the Jaguar oem design in terms of the materials he used and certain other design details. Here is a link to a current ebay sale from him:

Good luck.

I do have one issue with putting the cover on. It never seems to seal and sit correctly for me. Wind gets under it and most of the time I have to pull over at 70 or 80 to refasten it down or just take it off completely. It looks much better on but does not seem practical. Any ADVICE on that would be helpful when tying it down.

See my earlier post in this string. I had the same problem with the cover lifting at higher speeds. The snaps weaken over time and if this cover comes off its front snaps at high speed it will beat the dickens out of the trunk lid.
To solve, I attached two pieces of velcro to the flap, equally spaced across its length. The back of the rear seat is carpet so if you use the correct piece of a velcro kit it will attach itself to the carpet. You must sew the velcro pieces onto the flap. Glue backing won't hold it.
