Default Coolest Looking Color!

Okay, what is the coolest looking color Jaguar for a XK8/XKR? I would vote for Jaguar Racing Green.

I actually like Carnival red with the beige interior, but those are hard to find. I got a silver one with a black interior.

Silver with the black interior would be my second choice. The red looks great when driven by a good looking blond!

Black interiors on convertibles can be uncomfortable in the summer. That's why I'd prefer the light interior. My wife and I have been carrying around a sheet that we throw over the seats when we park. It doesn't look very classy.

I second the Jaguar Racing Green. My current XKR is BRG, but my last was Carnival Red. I love the classic color of BRG, but I miss the metallic sparkle of the Carnival Red.

I love my British Racing Green, but Jaguar Racing Green looks great. I've yet to see one in person to see if I would prefer it, I'm not sure it is dark enough to suit me.

I think the "smartest" looking convertible combo is white exterior with oat interior. The sharpest looking combo is the carnival/salsa? red (non-metallic) with oat interior (I saw one of these the other day--very rare around here).

wogless, you could have made a Poll out of this thread, don't you? If you want to try again, I'll delete this one.

Great ideal! A poll would be much better & I'd like to see the results.
Thanks,

Illium, I second your choices. My last was a carnivale red one, and this one is Jaguar racing green. I love this color. If this thread would have been out when I had the red, then I would have said that I wouldn't like any color as much. But now that I have the Jaguar racing green, which differs from BRG in that it does have the metallic in it, I now think this is my favorite color.

Salsa!....it makes them look very exotic! My XK8 was BRG wich was very classy looking.

When I was looking, I was looking for the XK8 Carnival Red with tan interior - 2001-2002. All the ones I found were in unacceptable condition. I didn't want a black interior in this part of the country, so when I found the excellent condition Platinum Silver with oatmeal interior in the R series at such a good price, I did not hesitate getting it. Glad I did now!!

First of all, I have noticed, long ago, that certain cars looked very good is some colors, and not so good in other colors. I think it has to do with the curves and body style. The XK8/R looks beautiful in any color. In my case, the last few cars that I bought were not actually in a color that I liked, because I bought them for the sake of expediency. My mother had a car, back in the 70's, that was a slate gray color, with a black vinyl top and I loved that color, and got a lot of comments about it when I drove it around. When I went looking for a Jag, and I found a pristine one in Titanium (very similar to the Slate Gray) with, of course, a black convertible top, it was very reminiscent of my mother's car. It's a unique color, and I have never seen another Jag in this color. Finally, I was able to buy a car in a color that I really like.

Has to be BRG, but in hindsight, I wish I had have gotten Jag Racing Green. The BRG shows up EVERY little blemish, which has me running for the 3M rubbing compound. For some reason, the metallics seem to show spidering and the occassional light scratch so much less.

Anyone seem the BRG Lotus F1 cars? Simply gorgeous....they just need to go fast.....

I'm partial to the silver exterior / black interior combo on my 2000 XK8 coupe.

Dark colors - Black, BRG, JRG, Carnival.

The silver, goldtones or the Blues (light or dark) don't work very well for me.

The problem with BRG is that it is not a color but a concept with at least a dozen formulas. Leave it to the British !
