@avos

I've driven them all and was not too impressed with the new xkr-s either. Can not feel that mine is slower and my timing shows that mine is indeed fast and comparable to the 5.0
When I am in Holland I'll be around hilversum. The only car which ever impressed me performance wise was an F40 I drove some 10 years ago.everything driven afterwards became moderate

Hey J00;

Are you up for the Loire Valley-Bordeaux Rally this summer we are trying to put together?

I am trying to find out about track days at LeMans to start it off.

If I can get Avos there then we can see who has the fastest Cat in the land.

cheers,

jj

Great plan, though it would be nice if some more competition would be there then just stock cars.

Not sure if this one is still planned for 2012, could also be a good one to join.
100 Jaguar XK's Stelvio Pass

@JJ Have you checked out the XKEC club in the UK?

Avos;

Glad you made it one OK....did you get any sleep yet?

Well I am hoping to have mine done to Stage II by you before then in the late spring......

Any ideas on how to make mine faster than yours?

JgaXkr mentioned that there is a smaller pulley than the one you are using.....hehe.

We can invite the post '06 XKR boys to this 'Cat Fight' and see how ours measure up to the New Cats.

Did you see that they just outlawed Sat Nav alerts for Radar Cameras, etc. in France?

They must have heard about our Loire Valley Rally.....

The Swiss Italian Rally looks good I remember the Top Gear show they did on that....funny but it was a Mini Cooper S that was faster than the super cars on that road....just saying I might have to bring the wife's car on that one.

Will have to check out XKEC, thanks.

cheers,

jj

No sleep yet, but the trip (and holiday) was very good. My TomTom was still working, although as you say, the automatic tax collectors are luckily easy to spot (not that it was needed to check of course…)
I might be able to help you with some ideas of making your car faster than mine, let’s see what I can think of after the le mans trip ;-).

Just went thru some pictures, here are my 2 (fearless) kids ( 5 and 7) with their dad (pants full, as it is right on a cliff).

At that time there was a chap that performed paragliding jumps of the cliff, and as his appointment didn’t show up, my Belgium model wife insisted I should take the jump, refused 2 times, then I had to agree to do it. Next picture shows me already further down the cliff, pants are really full at this time, instructions where simple, just run of the cliff and don’t look down….

When we met again below, my kids where very (and I mean very) angry as they were not allowed to jump with me. They should have known my fear, but afterwards it was great (unfortunately no pictures), especially when gliding close to cliffs, it was fantastic!

Avos;

Ah that explains the wind sock....it really isn't for test firing kids over the Alps.

A fine time was had by all.

Good luck with cleaning those pants.....those BSMW can be crazy like foxes....assume she had just increased your insurance......next time make her jump.....glad you had fun.

In the mean time a little lower down the mountain I had the Snow Cat out.....for some 12 year old kids first ride in a convertible.

cheers,

jj

Am not claiming my car will give you the thrills of a F40 (haven't driven that one though), but will be glad to let you experience what my XKR can do.

Let me know when you are there, I am regularly in Amsterdam, so not that far away.

J00;

Let me know when you are heading to Chamonix and we can get in some skiing.

Ditto that on going to Amsterdam since I hope to have Avos upgrade my car in the late spring.

Date of the Rally is not set yet...will contact track about open days.

cheers,

jj
