Had the car at dealership for a weird jerk / start when cranking engine no codes.
So they used a special scan tool to scan the system while driving and their instrumentation comes back crankshaft position- sensor:
not functioning as intended-signal noise cancellation failure internal feed rate data loss/improper signal rate feedback to ecm-timing control error .
THIS SENSOR DOES NOT HAVE TO SET A CODE TO CAUSE PROBLEMS IS WHAT THEY SAY.
They didn't have the part, and quoted a very high price of $762 bucks with diagnosis, how do I remove and replace this sensor? I can find any writeup, on here when searching.
Was told that its possible the sensor needs cleaning?

who in the holy hell put that crankshaft sensor connector behind the ac compressor tucked in behind lines????????!!!!!!!! WOW !!!
Face of the sensor is loose and ready to break, so its shot!!!
I also find a bad ground wire, crusty green and white, yuck!! but to remove the bolt from the tranny, the exhaust has to drop, bc its a long bolt!![Icon Crackup](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_crackup.gif)

I tell you, this is some real live BS! anyhow parts ordered.
Well here is what you do,
cut the old ground wire off with small bolt cutters or big wire snippers.
Get the new ground wire, you can get a generic $8, take the tranny end and grind a slot in it so it just slides in between the bolt and tranny as you tighten it down. The other end is held by a ten MM, SO IT WILL JUST BOLT ON FINE.
Now the crank sensor,
Just cut the 2 wires 1 inch from old sensor, leave 1 inch on new sensor wire.
Solder and heat shrink as you would a universal 02 sensor.
