The side window surrounds on your XKR will match the front and rear window surrounds and be either Dorchester Gray or Satin Black depending on spec.

The XK doesn't have front or rear window surrounds (glass is bonded direct to the body with no trim) and I think the side window surrounds are stainless steel and not chrome.

Chrome on your XKR side windows could look a bit odd if you didn't do the front and rear window surrounds to match ......?

I know very well how the windows are made of both versions (my father has the xk in 2008) and I thank you for your advice. But I want to do only the lateral ones and so my question remains unanswered: is there any company that builds them?
this company produces them for other cars ... I asked him if he wants to produce for our xk8 and are waiting for a response..

As far as I know nobody does them, however I have had them chrome wrapped before and that works well

Mine are bubbled to heck. I was going to strip and re-paint them over Christmas, but the weather decreed otherwise. What's involved in chrome wrapping?

Would love to replace them entirely, but that doesn't seem to be an option right now.

Best wishes, Colin

Hello Manni,

Thanks for your inquiry. We can manufacturer any window surround sets, however only if MOQ x100 sets are ordered and OE parts for tooling are supplied.

If interested I'll be glad to discuss further.

I think the term "OE parts for tooling are supplied" is the cruncher there, so to make a 100 sets you have to supply the tooling about 10k a set should cover it

As to wrapping the trims, just make sure they are smooth, clean and shiny they can wrap them anything you like, I have mine wrapped gloss black for about 4 years now and still OK
