Can you explain what is the correct shape of the add-on spoiler. The pic does make it look broken or melted. Are we missing some of the view?

Thanks.

I've seen this kit on a few websites, and that IS how the Spoiler looks. It certainly is different...............

Default Update to new XK body style

Since it's so difficult to track down information about Jaguar XK8/XKR kits... I guess I'll just add to this thread to help everyone find the information in one place. Enjoy!

Here's a kit that will transform older XK8/XKRs to the latest XK-style body panels.

It's sold by Paragon in the UK.

They quote approximately $4,000 for the 4-piece kit on their site.

It's a bolt-on kit, so for the PURISTS, it can easily be removed and the original nose, skirts, and rear bumper re-mounted.

Here's what Paragon Design UK calls its "08 Kit":

The only thing I like about the Paramount kit is the updated front end. That is the one thing I like most about the next generation XK models.

The full body kits are quite a chunk of change but I guess if you have a lot of disposable income that would not be a big deal.

In my opinion the new cars are not as classic in their looks. And that kit although better than most kits I've seen, still removes some of the dignity in the original design. It's just shouting a bit more than I personally think a Jag should do. Personal opinion though.

The Datsun 240Z is a great example of "owners gone wild" and the unfortunate result. You are hard-pressed to find an un-molested early vintage Z. So many of them were modified to such a degree that they lost all of their appeal...IMHO. Such a shame as its design is as timeless as our XK8s.

That all said...to each his own.
Often you'll find next year's model in terms of body style often can be traced back to someone's customization a couple years prior. Well done body kits tend to foretell (if not define) the future.

I've had the urge, admittedly, to find a kit to make my ride "stand out" and look more aggressive on the race track, yet retain its elegance... The only kit that I found which satisfies these goals (in my opinion) is the Zeemax ZKR kit... see below. Although I will probably not purchase the kit because I love the timelessness of my ride, every once in a while I have to fight off the urges... I'm really not into the chrome surrounds, carbon fiber, wood over-kill, nor the mesh grill... but of course, "good looks" are in the eye of the beholder and are purely a personal preference and I respect the choice of others to build their dreamcars the way they like.

Have a look at my dream kit... priced at about $4,000 shipping out of the UK. www.zeemax.com

About the only example of color matched painted wheels I like and the fake knock-off spinners look great! Where'd you get them?

He said that this is his Dream Car, which is an example from Zeemax. They sell wheels, and if this is not actually one of their own models, could probably point you in the right direction. Have fun with your pursuit of perfection, you have a lot of work in front of you. www.zeemax.com

Default Body beautiful

I believe our XK8's are the most beautiful bodies ever sculpted. I prefer the looks of my 02 to the newer models (but I'd love their drive train and chassis!) The XK8 are so graceful and elegant and yet powerful from the rear 3/4 view just as a big cat should look.

BUT... I do believe the sides of the car ride too high from the ground and a tasteful side skirt like an Arden style makes the car look a bit more complete without distracting from its natural beauty. Same for the rear, a slight change the to hide the mufflers would be nice and while we're at it a very mild front splitter would complete the aero-esthetics.

Yeah--I get Paragon and Paramount mixed up. Particularly since trinkets from either source are pricey.

My Dad got it fixed. Took 4 months to get it back from the body shop. Thy waited over a month for the body kit to come in. They finally got it back to new condition. It's a beauty and sits in the garage like the queen that it is.... Still looks new

Default makeup...

Triggered by the remark of putting makeup on Mona Lisa, I would like to know what you guys think of the minor modification that the original owner put on the hood of my '97 XK8 convertible; Have seen at least 1500 pics of similar cars, but never with this extravaganza...

Anyone ever seen it? Should I keep it on? (will removing it leave damage?)
